Gi Group are working with Aston Martin to find a Lead - Mass Production Scheduler, this person will be joining the team at such an exciting time as the construction of the new state of the art facility in South Wales is taking place, Aston martin are building new dynamic teams within each department and this particular role will be key to the Supply Chain team. From the sporting and dynamic Vantage range, through to the beautiful new DB11 and their Ultimate Grand Tourer, Vanquish S, all Aston Martin's cars are globally regarded as a combination of cutting edge technology, meticulous craftsmanship and stunning design. The supply chain’s role in each of these pristine vehicles construction is highly important, ensuring that each part is available, from highest quality of resources & all on time for the production to continue at a planned pace.

Job Purpose:

To lead overall mass production schedule creation & execution across AML & Supply base for St Athan Plant.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
1. Liaise with Sales & other related Depts to ensure production plan/PTS reflects customer requirements.
2. Create mass production build schedule.
• Allocate customer orders into vehicle ‘slots’ in the production schedule – ensure delivery dates are met, supply lead times respected and ensure production constraints are not broken.
• Manage forecast management in the slots table.
• Update production volumes in system on a daily basis.
• Generate TLS and issue out to supply base
• Manage the sales order amendment process – to ensure changes do not impact on production or existing supplier deliveries.
• Manage model year run out and run in planning.
• Liaise with Launch Team for the scheduling of Product Development cars within Mass Production schedule.
3. Ensure successful production schedule completion & control.
• Lead company-wide production schedule control via Control Centre (daily meetings & as required)
• Ensure “Build to Sequence” across all areas
• Manage & own all related production control related data to maintain smooth flow & promote continuous improvement
4. Utilise actual experience & data of production system to initiate continuous improvement across all related KPI’s.
5. Lead any special improvement activities, as required.
6. Reflect learnings to New Model scheduling to improve new model scheduling through to Job 1.
7. Any other related tasks to maintain or improve production scheduling & execution.

Key Performance Indicators
• Sales order amendments – volume of changes accepted.
• Schedule demand stability – Production Scheduler’s impact on the schedule demand.
• Build to sequence – Production Scheduler’s impact on the sequence of cars built.
• Premium freight costs – Production Scheduler’s impact on supply base; no emergency deliveries of parts due to Production Scheduler errors.

Qualification & Experience:
• Experience in vehicle or production planning, ideally in the automotive industry (production).
• An awareness of Aston Martin Production System / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.
• Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
• Computer Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential.
• Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.
