Who they are looking for:

Our client is excited to announce that they are now looking to appoint a new Assistant Manager/ Senior Sales Advisor for their Outlet in Castleford. The successful Assistant Manager/Senior Sales Advisor will report in to the Retail Outlet Manager and will play a pivotal role in maximising sales and profitability of the Outlet, whilst offering a first-class customer experience.

The newly appointed Assistant Manager/Senior Sales Advisor will also have a responsibility to act as Retail Outlet Manager in their absence. This role will provide the successful candidate an ideal opportunity to develop their Retail Management skills and experience with a small team, within a friendly customer focused environment.

The successful Assistant Manager/Senior Sales Advisor will have the following Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

* Making sure that all customers receive an industry-leading customer service experience during all aspects of their contact (in person, by phone or by email). This will involve assistance with purchases, product knowledge and a courteous approach.
* Ensuring that exemplary standards are maintained throughout the Outlet with regards to both appearance and cleanliness.
* Making sure all products are displayed to their maximum potential and that stock is maintained to an agreed level within the Outlet.
* Ensuring that all products are priced clearly and correctly, following both Company and trading standards guidelines.
* Ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed within the Outlet to ensure the safety of both staff and customers alike.
* Protecting Company assets by ensuring that all security guidelines are followed.
* Ensuring that Outlet takings are balanced on a daily basis and that any shortfalls are communicated and fully investigated using Company guidelines.
* Ensuring that all discounts are applied correctly through the till system. Also, ensuring that discount codes are not misused in any way.
* Assuming the operational responsibility for the Outlet in the absence of the Retail Outlet Manager. This covers days off, holidays and any other absences.
* Building and developing strong working relationships with all departments within the our client's group.
* Building and developing strong working relationships with external parties within the local areas (tradesman, retailers, suppliers, advertising sources, etc…).
* Along with the Outlet Manager, coaching and developing the Outlet team to achieve their full potential in sales and customer service

To be considered, you will ideally have the following experience and personal attributes:

* Supervisory/ management experience
* Retail and/or general business awareness.
* A true passion for interiors
* Customer service experience and a vision of what makes excellent customer service.
* Cash handling experience.
* Computer literacy to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Excellent planning and organisation skills
* The ability to and previous experience of making commercially responsible decisions during day-to-day operations.
* The ability to work unsupervised and to take the lead when required.
* Experience of handling customer queries and complaints in a professional manner, whilst showing empathy, understanding and protecting the brand.
* Good knowledge of local area.
* You will be a confident, approachable, people person.
* You will be fully flexible across all 7 trading days.
