Our client is the main provider of further and higher education in Wiltshire and is fast on its way to becoming outstanding having achieved a good Ofsted grade in June 2015.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Skills Development Manager to lead their Additional Learning Support team at their Trowbridge Campus. They have launched a new service to their students this academic year called The Learning and Skills Development Service (LSDS).

As a Learning and Skills Development Manager you will be responsible for the operational management and service delivery for the new Learning and Skills Development Service, line management of a dedicated team of Learning Mentors and will work closely with the Specialist Coordinators for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) and Community and Apprentices Coaches to ensure a seamless and outstanding provision of support for students.

The post holder will be expected to work with LSDS colleagues, teachers, college managers and other staff to improve outcomes for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, including students with Education, Health and Care Plans. This will be achieved through effective collaborative working, sharing of strategies and reasonable adjustments, provision of support services including the effective deployment of Learning Mentors. You will ensure the service provides highly effective targeted support and interventions including staff development and training, mentoring for students, provision of drop-in sessions and workshops for students, advice on assistive software and/ or technology to close gaps in achievement.

To be considered for this post you will have experience of working with additional learning support/special educational needs and disabilities.
