Experienced Technical Document Controller required for contract based in Kings Lynn area.

Duration - initial 6 months with potential extension for further 6 months.

Applicants with experience/understanding/review of P&ID's highly desireable and use of Share Point preferred.

This is a standalone role directly reporting in to Engineering Management.

Manage and control technical documentation for the site, including development of the site document control process (EDMS), subsequent control of information transmittal, appropriate storage and referencing of documentation, maintenance of an accurate package of site documentation, and management of handover documentation during the Replant project and the transition to a fully operational site.


Responsibility for the control and storage of site documentation, including revision control, document updates and document issue
Responsible for the setting up of a site electronic filing/indexing system (SharePoint based) incorporating old, updated and new plant documentation/information
Coordinate between personnel both from the Company and from contracting partners implementing best practice for information transmittal and sharing
Responsibility for checking quality of received documentation against a standard and responsibility to initially progress with individuals and then advise Site management when documentation is not being delivered on time
Support the Engineering team with the management of handover documentation which will be developed, submitted and used by a team of up to 100 people (contractors and own team). Close liaison with the Engineering team to ensure handovers are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, standards and procedures


Responsible for the development and in statement of an end to end document control and storage system suitable to the plant’s current (project phase) and future (operations phase) needs, taking input from power station management and proceduralising the output.
Providing technical excellence and leadership in ensuring that documents are kept in the right location, revision controlled and are accessible to all interested stakeholders, categorised according to the type of document and to the relevant area of plant.
Responsible for the effective checking and approving of documents (technically) before they are filed and liaising with internal and external parties to ensure that documents contain correct and understandable information regards their categorisation. Ultimately responsible for supporting the site’s procedures maintaining transparent, up-to-date and easily traceable documentation.
Oversee and review the team’s document deliverables, through effective use of the document management system and utilisation of station resources against the business plan and work programme, interfacing with the station staff to ensure that the overall station requirements are met.
Establish and maintain effective communication networks within own and wider team, ensuring activities are clear, understood and best practice is shared, through preparation and participation in site meetings to keep staff appraised of events and ensure they are involved and engaged in the document control process.
Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and to be familiar with effective filing and referencing, must have the ability to monitor and evaluate systems and to look for improvements.
Contributes to the development, implementation and delivery of the site business plan, site maintenance budget and life cycle analysis, risk management plan, Business Management System (BMS), system audit, and other relevant senior management activities to ensure delivery of strategic and business goals.
Coordination and working to deadlines and ensuring that all departments of the organisation are following the same procedures with regards to documents, and the flow of information is at all times managed within the project and site organisations.
