Job title:
General Ledger (GL) Clerk

Coventry, West Midlands

Reports directly to:
General Ledger (GL) MANAGER

Strategic business unit:
Headquartered in the UK, our client is a global engineering group specialising in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy markets.

Perform all General Ledger support procedures as required to a high standard of quality and in a timely, efficient manner.

• Balance sheet analysis, reconciliations and journals
• Bank reconciliations.
• Processing VAT returns
• Prepayments and accruals
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Processing and audit of travel expense claims
• Month end adjustments
• Maintenance of company fixed asset register
• Ad hoc duties as requested by General Ledger Manager

Key skills and competencies required:
• Relevant General Ledger experience is essential
• Excellent Oral and written Communication Skills
• Practical working knowledge of analytical tools and spreadsheets in the current company operating system environment (MS Office)
• Experience as well as ability to work within and contribute to a strong teamwork ethic
• Strong willingness to learn and develop (Initiative)
• Good organiser and ability to manage their own work effectivity

Desirable skills:
• Proven ability to support broad functional teams in a corporate environment and championing change
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, decision-making, planning, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience working in a shared services environment is a plus
• SAP Accounting Systems experience is highly desirable
