1:1 Learning Support Assistant

• Primary Special School

• Based in Barking & Dagenham

• Full-Time

• Daily pay £65-£80 depending on experience

Empowering Learning are currently looking for 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to work within a primary special school based in Barking & Dagenham. The school ARP is a resourced provision for children aged 4-11 with Autism Spectrum Conditions. The children have an array of needs and are on different levels of the spectrum. The ARP strives to aid every child’s progress in academic and social skills and this is achieved by putting plans in place that are tailored to each child's individual needs.We are looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants, who are dedicated to supporting children with various special needs on a 1:1 basis. We would be looking for a dynamic Learning Support Assistant who can work across various age groups, with the ability to be adaptable.

Job Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1

• Assist with personal care if needed

• Ability to engage and support pupils

• Supervising and mentoring behavior of pupils

• Encourage and support the child learning

Job Requirements

• Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant/Classroom Assistant

• Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities

• Strong communication skills

• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

• Available 4-5 days a week and able to commit

• Able to commit to 3-6 months
