Following a review of key systems, Chester Zoo has embarked on a transformation programme as part of its investment in maintaining its status as a leading visitor attraction.

As part of this programme, we are recruiting a Systems Implementation Project Manager on an initial 12-month contract, to be responsible for the implementation, integration, and project management of a number of brand new systems.

As a delivery-focussed Systems Implementation Project Manager, you should have experience across a broad range of functionality which may include Ticketing, Retail, F and B, POS, CRM, Events and HR systems.

Reporting to the Finance Director with a dotted line to the Head of IT, you will be working with 3rd party vendors and teams from across the organisation through the project delivery lifecycle, working from an agreed blueprint through to user training and BAU handover.

You will ensure projects are delivered according to requirements, on time, and within budget.

The role:

* Lead, manage and deliver a number of concurrent systems implementation projects from inception through to completion, on time and on budget.
* Develop, manage and drive the planning of the systems implementation projects, agreeing and maintaining accurate and robust project plans, success criteria, Gantt charts, and the PID.
* Identify and regularly communicate with the key internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and drive regular meetings and updates with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers.
* Ensure a continued focus on delivery is maintained, escalating risks and issues affecting the project - ensuring that risk is effectively managed, maintaining RAID logs, and ensuring prompt response and follow-up.
* Work with the user community, internal IT and 3rd parties to ensure effective UAT and training; and that system implementations and business change are effectively delivered through the user community.
* Organisation – managing change requests and owning and managing the project SharePoint site.

The successful candidate will have:

* Substantial project management experience including project methodologies and frameworks.
* Ability to manage a small portfolio of concurrent projects of varying size and scope.
* Experience of successfully implementing and migrating to 3rd party software products.
* Ability to adapt standard project frameworks to suit the client environment.
* Experience of organising and motivating internal staff and 3rd parties to embed business change.
* Experience of creating and managing virtual project teams from within and outside the organisation.
* Domain experience across commercial systems (Ticketing/Retail/F and B/POS), CRM, and HR.
* Experience of working with teams on data cleansing, extraction, integration, and migration.
* Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience.
* A project management specific qualification such as Prince2, PMP, Agile.
* Familiarity with Microsoft project/office tools including MS SharePoint, Project, and Excel.
* Any experience in the Visitor Attraction / Leisure sector would be beneficial.

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
