Lead Technician - Desktop

Permanent, full - time


Rullion are recruiting for a Lead Technician to join a Desktop Support team. This role will work closely with the Desk Support Team Leader. The desktop team is responsible for delivering and supporting end user IT devices and services. With a focus on customer service, communication and determination as our client aim to provide customers with a great end user experience.

The Role:

* Operational activity lead for the Desktop Support team

* Ensure Desktop operational tasks are scheduled, resourced and completed
* Lead daily team
* Leading the team in completing incident, problem and service requests, in line with SLAs
* Attend weekly resource meeting with project team to allocate people to projects
* Ensuring the Desktop Support team provide new starters to the business with a fantastic joining experience from IT
* Securing desktop estate against vulnerabilities and keep compliant against internal KPIs and regulatory requirements

* Providing technical support for end user IT equipment and services, including:

* Desktops, laptops, thin client, mobiles, tablets and printers
* Microsoft Windows, Office 365, desktop security suite (McAfee)
* Technical escalation point for other members of the Desktop Support team

* Utilising the following tools:

* Active Directory
* Azure Active Directory
* Office 365
* Windows 10
* Microsoft Intune


* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex, technical activities in a way which non-technical users can understand
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Strong technical and problem solving skills
* Proven track record of leading and delivering projects that have improved the end user experience
* Microsoft OS and application specialist, with administrative experience in Office 365, InTune, SCCM and Windows 10 build/ deployment/ management
* Proven skills in Exchange Online including transport rules, connectors, protection, mail routing, 365 and dynamic distribution groups


* Previous experience of working in Financial Services
* Understanding of the ITIL framework
* Professional qualifications and certifications
