Lead Developer- JavaScript, Oxford, £50,000-57,000 pa

My prestigious Client based in Oxford is looking for a Lead Developer with strong experience in JavaScript to join the Global IT team on permanent basis.

You will be a part of a new team working on the development of a global CMS capability.

You will be joining my client at an exciting time as they adopt agile and align the business with the Scaled Agile Framework.

Your main responsibilities:

* Being involved in the full software development lifecycle - from brainstorming to development to dev-ops

* Creating a great user experience by writing well-designed and efficient code

* Delivering high quality and robust solutions by performing functional and non-functional unit and component testing

* Understanding business requirements to assess operational feasibility and determine acceptance criteria

* Writing and maintaining great documentation Building on your existing skills you will be encouraged to further develop specialist knowledge in relevant programming languages, tools and techniques and to demonstrate how these can be applied to further drive innovation and improvement.

Your skills & experience:

* Experience of leading a team of developers

* Exceptional skills in both server side and client side JavaScript / NodeJS applications

* Extensive experience of other JavaScript frameworks (e. g. Angular, REACT, EXPRESS, jQuery etc.) and unit test using testing frameworks (e. g. Mocha, Chai, Jasmine etc.)

* Extensive experience of HTML5 and CSS3 and broader web technologies including Ajax, HTTP, Proxy Caching, Cross browser functionality

* Extensive experience of creating and consuming web-services (REST/SOAP)

* Exposure to other broader web technologies including Ajax, HTTP, Proxy Caching, Cross browser functionality

* Experience with various source control systems particularly SVN and GIT

* Previous experience working in an Agile environment, implementing projects in scrum, Kanban etc.

* Knowledge of common design patterns and strong OOP knowledge

* Ability to identify functional and non-functional requirements


* Scrum Master experience

* CMS (Content Management systems)

* Transactional ecommerce systems, working in both B2B and B2C environments

* Working with global teams

* Architecting and hosting of applications within a cloud based environment (preferably AWS)

* Docker application containerisation

* Continuous integration tools such as Jenkins

* Alternative languages (ideally Java, J2EE, JSP)

* Experienced with the use of Linux command line

Working hours:

* 35 Hour working week with flex on hours and working from home
