Prospero Teaching are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science, who has a clear vision for raising the quality of teaching and the social and academic learning of students in an Independent SEMH School based in Walsall.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience and drive who can help us focus even more clearly upon improving the lives and prospects of each of our students and to further develop our truly student-centred curriculum – where good practical skills in Science, especially Biology are at the core of our student’s life skills and further education.
We want to increase the attainment of students in PRUs
– can you help?

The main areas of responsibility will be:
• Delivering KS4 science and rapidly raise our student's abilities;
• Developing the curriculum in order to improve suitable outcomes for all our students, especially at GCSE level;
• Leading others by example of outstanding quality of learning and teaching;
• Lead by example in effectively using data to challenge expectations and to raise standards of achievement in reading, writing, speaking and listening etc;
• Work closely with the Headteacher and her Management Committee in continuing to enable all students to make rapid and dynamic progress in Science and life skills etc.

Other responsibilities will be discussed with the successful candidate on appointment. These would include:
• Pastoral welfare of all students;
• Cross curricular themed projects; extra-curricular workshops/trips/clubs;
• Attending meetings and be accountable for academic and social progress; clear record keeping and working closely with Social Workers and residential settings
• Other things that the successful candidate can bring to this post!
• Develop this new and exciting post!
