New Directions Education are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school based in Powys, a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Secondary Teacher in the Newtown/Powys area.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing scheduled teaching, preparing learning materials, marking students work, liaising with awarding bodies and external organisations as required.

You will also be providing valuable educational support and guidance for students in your role as personal tutor and liaise with parents as necessary. You must complete and produce agreed documentation such as attendance reports, schemes of work, course review, course analysis documentation and student reports.

The successful candidate will be qualified to Degree Level (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a relevant specialist subject area along with a teaching qualification. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments, and should have knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.

All candidates will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) and have a valid DBS (or be willing to apply for one)

The Role of a Secondary Teacher
