Our public sector client is currently looking for an Income Credit Controller to join their team on a 3 month initial contract. Although the initial contract is short other opportunity’s and extensions may arise.

The purpose of the role is to maximise rental income to the Housing Revenue Account in order to ensure the provision of high quality Housing Management services.

Day to day jobs would entail:

·To provide customers with advice and assistance to prevent and manage debt and access money advice. This will include providing a customer focussed front line enquiry response service and participating in a duty telephone rota.

·To respond to verbal enquiries and routine correspondence from customers within agreed timescales

·To carry out financial health checks with customers in order to raise awareness of the availability of financial products and services, offering advice on financial literacy, debt prioritisation, rent arrears clearance and income maximisation.

·To provide up to date advice on housing and welfare benefits in order to maximise tenants’ income and minimise rent loss and where applicable to carry out benefit interviews with tenants to ensure that claims can be processed without delay. This may involve visiting tenants at home.

·To assist vulnerable tenants by making referrals to support services and liaising with support workers and other staff in order to maximise income and prevent arrears from accruing.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a diverse customer focused environment using a variety of contact methods.

It would be beneficial if the candidate had experience and knowledge in this role or similar however, the client is open to candidates who are keen to get into this type of role and have skills and experience that can transfer.

It would also be an advantage if the candidate has knowledge or experience with universal credit or knowledge of welfare benefits.

The hours are Monday- Friday 9:00-17:30
