Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in Failsworth, Oldham?

Tradewind are looking for Teaching Assistants who has experience working with students who have behavioural issues. The role will be an immediate start and will pay between £55/ 60 per day. This is a long-term role until the end of the academic year.

This larger than average primary school is currently looking for a specialist Teaching Assistants to work with a student with challenging behaviour. As such, previous experience or training supporting EBD children is highly desirable.

This school place a value in the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural aspects of education as well as those aspects considered to be more academic. They are committed to offering opportunities such as music lessons, sports activities, adventurous activities and residential visits. Each year group performs a play or musical on the school’s stage each year for parents and enter the Oldham Choral speaking festival each year.

The right candidate will be expected to uphold the holistic approach the school is proud to deliver to all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate:
-Experience working with EBD pupils in either a mainstream or SEN setting is preferred although not essential
-Passionate, caring and approachable personality
-Strong behaviour management skills

The role:
-Working predominantly on 1:1 with EBD student
-Supporting class teacher and other professionals to provide an individually planned program for the student

The school is based in Oldham, with easy access via public transport and additionally if you are driving it has free car parking.

You will be working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and parents as a support staff member in a collaborative team who will endeavour to provide the support needed to encourage achievement and progress across all aspects of school life. The school provides for children with a wide variety of needs including Autistic Spectrum disorder, Down’s Syndrome, Verbal dyspraxia, hearing impairment, visual impairment, complex medical needs, complex physical disabilities. Children with special educational needs are supported in a variety of ways and you may also be required to liaise closely with health professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and paediatricians to ensure that programmes are delivered appropriately.

You will have a great support system from a hands on SLT team, with CPD training provided.
