Development Engineer
SummaryOur company is a privately owned, medium sized company, specialising in development and manufacturing within the automotive industry. With product development being central to its success, it has a history of market-leading technology development and is sought out by OEMs for its specialist expertise. Our company is currently embarking on a strategy of growth and diversification of its business and is seeking to recruit a high calibre Development Engineer.The main role will be to ensure that new product introduction within our company is managed in line with the Principal Engineer’s expectations of cost, quality and delivery whilst achieving the technical specifications. These projects will usually be focused on emission reduction technologies. This will involve ensuring project milestones are achieved in line with the project plan whilst working on designated projects for the Principal Engineer.
Key Responsibilities•Lead or assist in the development of new products in close cooperation with Project Engineers•Lead or assist in the development of Verification and Validation plans to both customer and our companies standards•Keep the Principal Engineer informed of any issues which may affect the successful completion of the project•Maintain accurate and concise documentation and project plans•Ensure that projects meet the requirements laid down in internal procedures to satisfy IATF16949:2016•Ensure that products meet legislative requirements•Support customer and internal testing and/or project field trials as required•Generate accurate and concise detailed test reports•Identify opportunities for improvement.

Person SpecificationEducation and Qualifications•HND/Degree in Mechanical or Automotive engineering.

Salary Benefits and Conditions of Appointment•Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience - 39 hour week•Holidays - 24 working days holiday plus statutory days•Holiday allowance increases by one day per complete calendar year to a maximum of 29•There is a Company pension scheme which, subject to its terms and conditions, you will be eligible to (and in some cases automatically) join•Full details are available from the HR Department•Death in Service Scheme•In the interests of all our employees we operate a No Smoking Policy except for in a designated area at break times only.
