Based in Cardiff, IQE is a rapidly growing semiconductor manufacturing business with a global presence. It has over 50% share in the global market for advanced mobile communications materials, and is rapidly growing in its other markets which include photonics, high efficiency solar power generation, advanced infra-red, power switching and LEDs. Due to team expansion and the construction of a new foundry, IQE require a several experienced Equipment Engineers for mid-to-senior level shift-based positions.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Shift Equipment Engineer will provide Equipment Engineering support to production by managing the various systems in terms of, breakdown, maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, record keeping and performance.

Key responsibilities include,
  • The day-to-day maintenance of manufacturing systems and ancillary plant support systems.
  • Maximising the uptime of all equipment necessary for production.
  • To provide medium and long term planned preventative maintenance function and record keeping.
  • To monitor reactor performance and identify problems and establish and implement lasting solutions to those problems.

Educated to HNC/HND calibre (degree preferred) or time served in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering, you are a proven and highly experienced shift maintenance engineer, Supervisor or Team Leader. This will suit candidates from a range of volume or high volume manufacturing backgrounds including; semiconductors, FMCG, food, electronics, automotive and pharmaceuticals.

Please note, the shift pattern for these positions is on a continental shift pattern of 4 on / 4 off

2 shifts 6.00 am > 6.15 pm
2 shifts 6.00 pm > 06.15 am
