If you are looking for a career in a rapidly growing business, we are now recruiting for a talented Credit Control Manager to join our Head Office Finance team in Walsall.

You will be responsible for Credit Control duties and manage a small team. The role would suit a self-motivated and balanced individual who enjoys challenges and building long-lasting customer relationships.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

  • Able to demonstrate significant credit control experience with a demonstrable track record of success
  • Experienced in ensuring adequate credit insurance cover across a customer portfolio
  • A strong team leader, with the ability to motivate and develop personnel
  • An excellent communicator – dealing with customers, internal branch staff, sales teams and the board
  • Able to manage conflicting deadlines
  • Proactive and positive with a can do attitude

The role requires a self-starter that can manage their own workload and prioritise tasks to suit business needs.

Job Description

  • Overall responsibility for cash collection and setting of team responsibilities and objectives.
  • Regular review of the Aged Debt Report ensuring that customers adhere to the agreed trading terms, and direction of department to minimise overdue debts
  • Ensure adequate credit insurance is in place to minimise bad debt loss
  • Negotiate with Credit insurer to ensure adequate cover
  • Account Reconciliations and cash allocations
  • Maintaining and producing debtor's reporting and comments for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Working with the Finance Director to take remedial/improvement actions against overdue accounts
  • To liaise with the sales team ensuring that customer credit limits are realistic, and making changes as required
  • Chasing customers directly by phone and email
  • Running and reviewing credit reports from credit agencies
  • To maintain the accuracy of the Customer Database, arranging for changes, additions and updates as required
  • Preparation of legal forms with supporting documents for submission to solicitors and courts
  • Running the weekly sales invoicing
  • Previous experience managing staff (initially there will be 4 direct report).

Profile

  • Significant credit control experience with a demonstrable track record of success
  • Experience of working in a fast moving B2B business with ability to make independent decisions.
  • A strong team leader, with the ability to motivate and develop personnel

  • Comfortable using different IT platforms
