BFLF are working with a leading company in the Sheffield area

Role: Technical Manager

To effectively manage the technical function, ensuring all design orders are produced within the agreed timeframes to suit the customers’ requirements.

Managing the technical/design team and all technical activities for the company.

Motivating staff and leading the team to achieve work targets and activity key performance indicators.
Design liaison with Clients and/or Consultants
Design liaison with Clients and/or Consultants
Supervision of Design Technicians
Ensuring production of project drawings/details and fabrication drawings to required standards and timescales.
Create and endorse all structural calculations.
Ensure Compliance with all British/Euro Standards, Building Regulations and Guidelines for our industry.
Liaison with Contract Managers and Site Personnel to resolve construction issues
Ensure all contract orders are managed ensuring designs targets are met in terms of delivery time, quality, cost and customer satisfaction.
Implement/update procedures and design standards.
Assist site personnel in the correct selection and installation of our products, applicable to current and potential users.
Obtain and develop product specifications.
Liaising with other departments within the company.
Provide accurate management information.
Interviewing and selecting new members for the team.
Carrying out training techniques.
General design/engineering support.
Research and develop new designs for masonry support systems, windposts and wall tie/restraints.
Plus any other duties as directed by Senior Management to meet the needs of the business
Education & Qualifications
Engineering Degree

12 months + experience in the construction sector in an engineering role.
Structural Design.
Good general Civil/Structural Engineering background

Good communication skills.
Flexible nature.
Effective people skills.
Able to resolve problems.
Gather, correlate, analyse and present information to group.

Working experience in relevant calculation methods.
Design/drafting skills.
Fully PC literate
Microsoft Office skills.
Exposure to a commercial / sales environment

Annual Salary: £30-35k p/a + company car/allowance + laptop/mobile

All plus benefits associated with an established company (bonus scheme, private healthcare and workplace pension scheme. 28 days paid holiday, free parking, local to Meadowhall)

Working hours Mon-Thur 8.00am-4.30pm, Friday 8.00am-3.30pm.
