About the role

In this fantastic new role, you will be responsible for developing major enhancements to an existing application, data processing across several platforms including Oracle, MS SQL and others for existing internal software as well as importing data from acquisitions delivering high quality solutions that meet best practises, whilst also providing peer code reviews and getting stuck into complex projects. The applications will be delivered to a large user base of over 1000 so attention to detail is essential as is the ability to see create a solution based on both the user’s and the business needs in the most efficient way.

About You

We are looking for an experienced database application developer to join a new Development Team for an exciting new project based in Crowthorne. The role will require an excellent knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL preferably with experience in HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript / JQuery and experience of developing business software applications to meet both the end user and the business needs.

You will need a good eye for, and a strong attention to detail. The ability to work on your own and problem solve independently is essential, as well as working and problem solving as part of the team.

We need someone who is proactive, forward thinking, confident and eager to become a valuable member of the team.

Key Skills

  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience of stored procedures, packages, functions and DML operations
  • JavaScript (JQuery), HTML5, CSS3
  • A desire to learn - you will be on a continual learning curve as the software is constantly developing
  • Testing new features on our software and solving problems.
  • Appreciation of the "business drivers" of a commercial software house. The balance between developing the best possible solution and an "acceptable" cost for that solution.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL and other databases a bonus
  • Personal Skills

  • A good team player and self-motivator who will want to rise to the many challenges the job will offer.
  • Eye for detail and accuracy in your work essential.
