An exciting credit controller position has recently become available at a rapidly expanding company based in Manchester City Centre. Working within the wider finance function, you will be responsible for the credit control across the company.

As a Credit Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all debts are chased and collected via telephone, email, letter or face to face meetings
  • Pro-actively ensure debts are paid in a timely manner, meeting cash & debtor day targets
  • Manage debt levels in line with insurance policy
  • Regular meetings with the Finance Manager to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customer via multiple methods of communication
  • Manage the setup of new customer accounts including credit application process
  • Proactively investigate queries from customers (following internal escalation process when necessary)
  • Maintaining client relationships, ensuring that regular updates are provided
  • Liaise with credit referencing agencies and credit insurers
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of the credit control system and procedures

As a Credit Controller, you will have/be:

  • Prior experience of working within a B2B credit control environment
  • Experience in dealing with and resolving complex queries
  • Confident in building rapport and having a strong customer focus
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Confident challenging and working closely with sales teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High standard of numeracy and attention to detail
  • Previous experience using a large ERP system
  • Computer literate, with a high level of proficiency with MS packages - especially Excel
