HEAD OF INTERNAL IT


The role:

Due to growth and innovation my client now have an exciting opening for a progressive forward thinking IT Manager to head up their IT division. You will be a significant member of the team and report directly to senior management. Your core purpose will be to develop and direct on current and future IT company projects.

Job Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to: Develop excellent internal IT services and support development of external services

  • Development of Internal IT/IS Strategy and Service Catalogue
  • Ownership of Internal IT Projects planning and execution
  • Development of Internal Service Catalogue
  • Curation/Maintenance of External Service Catalogue
  • Security Audits
  • Technology research and service development
  • Project Scoping and Business Case creation
  • Project management and delivery - self and small team
  • Knowledge sharing – and progress reporting
  • Development of new services, tools, techniques, procedures and policies.
  • Service transition, business continuity and service management
  • Managing IT Service development budgets and costs.
  • Requirements of the job

    Essential

  • Strong technical foundations with strategic and managerial abilities
  • Minimum 2 years IT project management or development experience
  • Passion for and good understanding of leading edge Microsoft technology
  • Good understanding of Security and Compliance
  • Technology experience: Windows 10, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Skype, Office 365 & Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good prioritisation skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans
  • Experience of evaluating technologies
  • Proven experience of successfully developing technology strategy and business cases
  • Good communications skills - written and verbal
  • Good leadership skills. Experience of managing teams
  • Commercial awareness and experience of working with and delivering to multiple stakeholder groups
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Desirable

  • Understanding of GDPR and other current security standards
  • Deep knowledge of Sharepoint and Office 365
  • Asset management software experience preferable, but not essential
  • Data Migration skills and knowledge
  • The Person

    You will be a passionate IT professional, excited by leading edge technology and how it can help businesses to be more effective. You will have a good understanding of current Microsoft cloud technologies and experience of developing digital transformation strategies. You will also be prepared to be hands on to implement the solutions. In addition to having very strong technical expertise you will also be good at engaging with multiple stakeholders at all levels within the business; gathering requirements, giving guidance and training, managing virtual teams and presenting recommendations and business cases to the board. You will be good at process and fully believe in the need for good documentation and adherence to procedure. You will have experience of maintaining and developing service catalogues.

    About:

    The objective of the role is to ensure that we implement and make best use of an excellent cloud infrastructure which is properly documented and supported. This means developing the strategy and deploying the solutions which ensure that we use all the cutting edge technologies which we are delivering to our customers.

    In addition, we need to ensure that we implement and comply with such security policies and procedures as are agreed and adopted.
