I am currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to work at a Head Office based in York (within the outer ring road)

The main duties would involve:
To support the Financial Controller with day to day duties
Sales and Purchase Ledger
To maintain both manual and computerised record filling systems and procedures
To manage the banking reconciliations in foreign currencies and posting of nominal entries to the bank account
Assist in the reconciliation of various nominal ledger control accounts
Issuing management reports and statistical information within specified timescales
Compile Intrastat and VAT reports
Ad hoc duties as required

Required experience:

Proficiency in Excel and Word
Excellent attention to detail
Experience in foreign currency
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
We are setting up a new division in the coming months and the Finance Assistant / Accountant would have an instrumental role in setting up and running the system.
Minimum AAT level 4 (or equivalent qualifications)
Familiar with computerised accounting packages
