My client is a leading processing company, Based in Hartlepool. They now have a requirement for a Maintenance Fitter. Reporting to the Plant Manager, You will be responsible for all the maintenance of the machinery and associated equipment on the facility.

The role
Ensure that statutory duties are met and that Company Rules are followed when work is carried out.
Ensure that you are responsible for taking care of your own health and safety and the impact any of your acts or omissions may have on other people.
Co-operate with your Manager to enable your Employer to comply with statutory duties for health and safety.
Use of Oxygen / Acetylene heating and burning equipment to an acceptable standard.
Welding in horizontal, vertical and overhead positions using MMA and Mig equipment to an acceptable standard.
Use knowledge and skills to design and develop minor profiles, fabricate steel structures and repair 3-dimensional surfaces.
Have a basic knowledge of disconnecting, testing and re-connecting 3 phase motors.
Knowledge of pipe-work components and ability to fabricate to established standards.
Ability to handle paint spraying equipment safely
Organise preventative maintenance schedules using SAP.
Maximising operating profit through using planned maintenance where it is more effective than alternatives
Maximising equipment reliability through using planned maintenance most effectively.
Quickly returning equipment to design capability through using planned maintenance most effectively.
Maximising equipment availability through most effectively using planned maintenance.
Take condition monitoring measurements using Pruftechnik when required.
Assist in the installation of capital projects.
Prepare Purchase Orders to maintain adequate stocks of engineering materials.
Develop and implement capital expenditure projects in order to improve Company profitability by either extending capacity or minimising operating costs.

Applicant requirements.
- Hold a relevant qualification in an engineering related discipline or relevant time served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Multi-skilled Engineer with both electrical and mechanical capabilities.
- Knowledge of fault finding, diagnosis and repair of a wide range of production machinery.

Benefits
- Contract position.
- £Negotiable hourly pay rate.
- Monday to Friday dayshift hours. 8.00am – 4.30pm
- 6 months contract (possibly longer)
