My client, a Global Engineering & Manufacturing company are now seeking a Finance Manager for their UK Head Office in Ashton-Under-Lyne. This role will be working closely with the UK General Manager during a period of significant growth. This will be #1 in finance, managing one member of staff.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the overall financial management and financial control for the UK company, your duties will include:

  • Month end management accounts production, with commentary and analysis
  • Preparing timely, accurate, and reliable financial month end reports, including budgets, cash flow forecasts, overhead reporting and project margin analysis.
  • Responsible of all UK statutory accounts and reporting into Group for this UK entity.
  • Continuous improvement with regards to internal controls & compliance - development and implementation
  • Forecasting and planning
  • You will manage and mentor one Accounts Assistant.
  • Contribute to the overall business management as a member of the leadership team, this will include attending and contributing during operational and strategic board meetings.

Person specification:

  • To be successful in this role, you will need to be an ACMA/ACA/ACCA qualified accountant, with a background in the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience of an ERP system implementation would be desirable.
  • You must understanding the way a group environment works.
  • You will need to be a team player with good people management skills and a can do' attitude who wants to help others develop.
  • Candidates will be expected have an up to date knowledge of FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS, with proven practical application in commercial and business situations. Experience in a manufacturing company with a mixture of standard and job costing is highly desirable.
