Axon Moore are working with a fast-growing Skipton based client to recruit a Financial Controller.

The role will see you work very closely with the Finance Director and offers a strong blend of reporting / controllership and FP&A work.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function and its ongoing development. Key duties will involve:
  • Monthly reporting and analysis, including consolidation of results from other sites / business units
  • Working closely with colleagues to maintain a rigorous framework of internal financial controls and monthly balance sheet reviews
  • Consolidated budgeting, forecasting and 5 year plans
  • To drive process and systems improvements – you’ll play a key part in an imminent ERP upgrade
  • Management of a small transactional finance team
  • Cash-flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Assistance with operational and commercial analysis to help drive the business towards its strategic objectives
  • Key contact for the auditors across year-end and the half-year
In addition to the regular monthly timetable this role will offer great scope to get involved with helping the business make a variety of procedural, systems, operational and commercial improvements. The business is successful and profitable but the Financial Controller will be a critical component in driving further improved bottom-line performance.

You will work closely with colleagues across various parts of the business and will likely spend 1-2 days each week at other sites.

It is essential that:
  • You are fully qualified - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • You have experience of a business control position and strong experience of reporting on KPI’s
  • You have staff management / development experience
  • You are someone with a keen interest in systems and the value they can bring – prior exposure to a large ERP system such as SAP or Oracle be useful
  • You are a confident and enthusiastic senior accountant with the ability to work well both with your team and the broader business
  • You are a confident communicator – this isn’t a role where you’ll be sat behind a computer screen all day!
The business is undergoing a number of positive changes at present. Success in this role will likely lead to further prospects within the business.

The role will pay a salary of £65-70,000 with benefits including a bonus scheme, share-save scheme and strong pension.
