A well-established, family owned global manufacturing business, operating in 8 countries, across 3 continents are currently looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to be based at their Doncaster site. The company is dedicated to improving and developing the site and company culture from the top down. Continuously looking to invest in the staff and developing the business from the ground up.


As the Senior Engineer, you will be part of the management team reporting directly to the Plant Director. The main duties and responsibilities include:

*Coach and ensure that all Engineers have clear defined guidelines to perform their roles in conjunction with other Managers and Supervisors; this includes sound engineering systems.
*Identify training needs where required and draw up plans to improve this in conjunction with the company training policy and other Managers and Supervisors.
*Full budgetary control
*Plan and co-ordinate the schedule of preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools and/or buildings in conjunction with other Managers and Supervisors.
*Review manufacturer' service manuals, own establishment's usage schedules and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventative maintenance
*Study production and operations schedules and confer with other staff and with maintenance supervisors to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operation of site
*Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance
*May develop and co-ordinate plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery and/or buildings
*Continuous improvement within this area is key. Reporting on overall effectiveness of the system, PPM targets are met and follow up to ensure effective closure of each PM
*Delivery through machine minders improved engineering start-up/response times/PPM
*Efficiency; Each production line is to be evaluated regularly, identifying engineering that will increase overall efficiency, also to permit operators to use the equipment more effectively. Ensure engineering solutions in conjunction with other Managers and Supervisors are put in place to affect a permanent fix. Effectively communicate to the Operations Manager that the performance of the department is positively contributing to the business needs
*Ensure all procedures relating to Health and Safety are employed by all engineering personnel and contractors and to ensure that this done by auditing process and procedures


To be considered for the position of Senior Engineer you will need to be able to demonstrate:

*Experience of managing a team of Engineers, ideally in a diverse and unionised environment
*Experience of working within FMCG manufacturing and managing within budget constraints
*Proven experience of contributing to successful change management and performance
*improvement programmes
*Results driven
*Time served Engineer
*Mechanical and electrical competence
*Knowledge of SAP planned maintenance.
*Legislative awareness
*Electrical regulations
*Health and Safety regulations including Legionella.
*Strong manager
*Excellent communication skills
*Self-motivated and highly resilient
*Leads by example
*Numerate and financially aware


*£35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience
*5% matched pension contribution
*6% bonus based on company performance and personal KPI's
*40 hours per week
*20 days paid holiday with an additional 1 day per years of service (up to a maximum of 5 extra days after 5 years) +Bank holidays
