The Company

Our client was the first to develop alarm systems for older people, and has continued to lead the market ever since, remaining at the forefront of developments such as telecare and telehealth, right up to the present day where they are harnessing the power of digital technology.

The Role

The product range consists of approximately 150 final assemblies and 75 sub-assemblies.Annual volumes vary from 500 to 500,000.Working within the Production Engineering Department, which is part of the Operations team, the role has the following responsibilities:

    Design, development and implementation of automated production test facilitiesWork directly with the I&D (Innovations and Development) group to provide DFT /DFM analysis and test specificationsGenerate test software to automate test systems, communicate to the device under test, and store/retrieve results from a database. Ensure products are tested as quickly/efficiently as practicable within cost constraintsCreate all test system documentation including equipment operating procedures, test procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, recommended spare parts lists, calibration instructions, schematics, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.Contribute to project plans by providing time and cost estimatesDeal with yield issues when needed; this will require interfacing directly with the factory / I&DMonitor yields and trends in order to identify process improvement opportunitiesIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

·Degree level in Electronics Engineering or related disciplines

·Proven track record in production test development activities

·Labview experience

·Experience in electrical and mechanical design of production test equipment

·Experience in developing automated test production test equipment

·RF knowledge

·ICT experience

·Database creation and maintenance

·Knowledge and experience of Lean manufacturing principles

·Ability to manage own time and prioritise different demands.

·Willingness to travel abroad occasionally for limited periods of time.
