SQL Database Administrator

We are recruiting for a SQL Database Administrator in the Camden area.

As a SQL Database Administrator you will need to have:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
  • Accredited to ITIL to foundation level or higher
  • Experience of working as a production database administrator in SQL server environments
  • Experience of providing support for mission critical applications
  • Previous experience of performance monitoring and database optimisation tools and techniques (including back-up and recovery tools and techniques)
  • Broad experience on the following; MS windows server level 3; PL SQL and T SQL level 3; SQL Developer level 3; SQL management studio and DMV level 3; SQL server level 3; SQL server database administration level 3; SQL server integration services and reporting services
  • Working knowledge on UNIX operating system level 2


  • Salary: up to £52,217.34
  • Working Hours: 37 hours between the hours of 8am-6pm
  • Location: Camden, London
  • Duration: Permanent

Role of a SQL Database Administrator:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, maintenance and tuning of physical databases
  • Help optimise performance and availability of IT solutions
  • Work with application owners to plan strategy and define system road maps
  • Assist is assembling the business cases to secure funding for new products and major system upgrades
  • Help to obtain approval for change requests and implement them
  • Liaise with system suppliers, business customers and technical colleagues
  • Safeguard and secure access to the information
  • Research and respond to logged issues
  • Provide advice and training to users
  • Devise corrections/work arounds
  • Update documentation
  • Manipulate data
  • Define database enhancements
