An ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED graded Secondary School, in Bury, Greater Manchester are looking to recruit a Science Teacher / Science NQT on a permanent basis for September 2018.

The Secondary School continues to achieve higher than the national average for GCSE results, and significantly above average attainment scores. This has helped the school become the parent’s choice for secondary schools in the area.

The Head Teacher and Governors have opened this Science Teacher position to both experienced and Newly Qualified Science Teachers (NQT).

With a large Science department currently consisting of 9 Science Teachers and 2 Science Technicians the need for support and guidance is well catered for. Providing NQT’s with constant support from the Science HOD and SLT by utilising continued in and out of school training, lesson observations and 1:1 discussions.

  • Science Teacher / Science NQT
  • Newly Qualified Science Teacher (NQTs) or Experienced Teacher
  • Ability to teach Biology, Physics or Chemistry confidently at KS3 and KS4
  • KS3 and KS4 up to date curriculum knowledge – Essential
  • Highly Supportive NQT induction: SLT & HOD Guidance, Lesson observations and continued in and out of school training
  • Working alongside a large team of Outstanding Science Teachers
  • Delivering engaging and informative Science lessons
  • Apply school ethos and policies throughout
  • Continued Safeguarding training
  • September 2018 – Permanent, Full Time
  • MPS1 - MPS6 - £22,917 – £33,824
  • Located in Bury, Greater Manchester – Good Transport links

  • You must hold UK QTS (by September 2018)
  • Must have a Science Degree – 1st class or 2:1 qualification
  • Strong understanding of the Science curriculum is essential
  • Biology, Physics or Chemistry bias – essential
  • Graded good or better in recent lesson observations or placements
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a large team of Science Teachers
  • Must be an enthusiastic Scientist, that can inspire young minds
  • Ability to build rapport with children and staff alike

  • Graded ‘Outstanding’ in last OFSTED report
  • 82% achieved Grade 4 or above at GCSE
