Our client is looking for a Theatre Technician to take responsibility for all technical areas within the 3 performance spaces which comprise a theatre, a studio and a dance studio.You will provide appropriate and creative technical production support for performances and activities, with an interest in discovering and nurturing new opportunities.The Theatre Technician will work closely with a dedicated and creative team of fellow professionals and will be expected to manage their own time to complete the duties required, working flexible hours within a 40 hour week including evenings and weekends. A high level of commitment is expected, particularly in the weeks leading up to a major production. There will be a lot of overtime during busy periods.Candidates be qualified in education or have experience of working with students in an academic setting with experience in the following areas:·Up to date knowledge of theatre systems and computer technology·Lighting systems, lighting equipment and maintenance·Set building, painting and design techniques·Safe rigging and staging equipment·IT – PowerPoint presentations, projector set up·AV equipment·Health & Safety requirements and relevant legislation
