Due to continued growth RMSpumptools are looking for an experienced design engineer to work within it's connector division. Reporting to the Engineering manager, the candidate will provide support in overseeing multiple New Product Development activities and mentor members of the current team of design engineers to meet the on-going and future engineering challenges faced by the business.

In addition to ensuring various product development and commercial targets are met, the individual will provide high level technical support both interdepartmentally and externally, to customers and the sales team alike, handling urgent enquiries and technical issues in a timely manner.

The candidate will have a firm grasp of design procedures and strictly adhere to company QA protocol. From the outset they will be able to check / approve more general engineering documents (subject to experience) and be developed so as to be proficient in all technical disciplines required of them.

A proactive and autonomous character is required, being confident to make high level technical decisions to ensure that products are developed to exacting standards and resulting in high reliability in the field.

The candidate must be personable, flexible, and adept at communicating ideas effectively and to individuals of all technical levels. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to QHSE are also vital for this role.

Required Skills / Experience:

? Degree in mechanically-based engineering discipline preferred

? Strong mechanical background (including FEA)

? >5 yrs experience in the oil and gas industry, or similar regulated industry.

? Experience with project management product manufacture

? Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD system

? Methodical and logical approach to problems, with high attention to detail.

? Autonomous and driven

? Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in writing both detailed technical documents and emails, and a confident verbal communicator.

? Knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems

? Knowledge of metallurgy, elastomers, sealing elements, and dielectric materials

? Knowledge of qualification testing and manufacturing techniques

? Project management skills ? handling both short projects (1 week) through to longer term (1 year plus)

? An awareness or ideally experience with intrinsically safe equipment (i.e. ATEX, IECEx, FM)
