Direct Appointments is currently resourcing for Paraplanners with a proven track record of relevant experience to compliment our clients financial planning existing team. You will be based at home on a contract of 12 months leading to permanent status.

Paraplanners should have at least 12-18 months paraplanning experience in a financial services, compliance/risk or wealth management or similar environment with the ability to communicate well with colleagues, clients and third-party service providers and have a good grasp of regulated client facing requirements to be able to fully support colleagues in the business and clients alike.

You will be part of a small professional team that provides a high level of service to established clients. They offer considerable personal development and will support progression opportunities.

The Key Responsibilities of the Paraplanners are:

• Assist the advisors in the delivery of exceptional client service.

• Collate and maintain information and documents required to support the advice team in providing compliant advice.

• Undertaking market research as required, including investments, pensions and protection plans

• Research preparation for client review meetings and generating portfolio reports;

• New business research and preparation of suitability reports following any recommendations made ensuring they contain all necessary client information and the background;

• Undertaking Technical research and analysis

• Participating in ad hoc projects and tasks as and when required

• Liaison with product providers to ascertain any policy information which may be required for your research;

• Comfortable preparing detailed letters and comprehensive reports using meeting notes and summaries.

Previous experience/attributes of the Paraplanner ;

• Excellent report writing skills and a sound understanding of all contract types;

• Close attention to detail, strong communication skills and customer focus above all else is essential;

The successful candidates should be comfortable and understand the structure of paraplanning or equity, or pension or life products and be willing to learn and understand more complex financial products.

• Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS) or working towards the diploma or equivalent experience (support with training will be provided). –an advantage

• Professional and confident manner, with the necessary communication skills to build professional relationships with team, clients and professional connections.
