We support over 1500 children, young people and adults across England and Wales and have a large presence in the Hampshire area.


Due to our continued expansion in Hampshire we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our regional support team in the Southampton office, which is located in Millbrook. This position is for 35 hours per week.


You will support operational managers and senior staff in relation to all financial matters within services in the Hampshire area. This will involve producing reports and reconciliations to include sales/purchase ledgers, credit card, bank and other balance sheet accounts, in accordance with the finance schedule of the organisation. You will also be liaising regularly with the Central Finance team in Milton Keynes as required.


You will be involved with preparing financial information for internal audits within services, and contribute to the end of year audit. In addition you may be required to produce ad hoc reporting and information.




About you


You will need experience of basic reconciliation and accounting, working with Microsoft Office to intermediate level, and ideally with knowledge of some financial software. You will be accurate, logical and methodical, able to produce volume work with a high level of accuracy and detail. It would be desirable that applicants have a working knowledge of ECM system.


You will be able to work to deadlines and schedules within the team, remaining calm and focused on the tasks to be completed.


You will need good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ideally you will have or be working towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or if not you will be willing to undertake this as part of your professional development.


You must hold a full clean licence which allows you to drive in the UK, together with your own transport insured for business use.
