Treasury Analyst ££ Compete Salary + Benefits - Manchester - Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Treasury Accountant Expert to join a global leader based in Manchester. The Treasury Accountant Treasury Accounting & Middle Office Expert will report directly to the Treasury Controller and will advise, instruct, and support Treasury Back Office (TBO) team members. The Expert will advise and participate in the design and execution of ways of working that support the Global Treasury Risk & Reporting, Global Treasury Operations, Regional Treasurers and world-wide entities. Identifying areas for continuous improvement to drive productivity and strengthen the control environment and help to drive process harmonisation globally.

The role holder will be the main point of contact within the TBO team for technical matters and will also be responsible to provide expert advice to other TBO team members with regards to SAP and other operating systems (i.e. FXALL, MISYS, and Bloomberg). The Expert will have a full understanding of all SOX controls, how and when they are to be executed and evidenced.

Involvement in various projects and tasks linked to the teams work area to develop processes, their own presentation skills, understanding and use of formal documentation procedures all strongly linked to SAP and other business tools. The Expert will be responsible for co-ordinating change requests for process improvements, co-ordinating regression testing/period end testing on an annual basis and ensuring that TBO have sufficient trained power users to support global testing requirements.

It should be noted that tight reporting deadlines will often require a degree of flexibility regarding working hours. With a thorough understanding of core BSC processes, this role is responsible for initiating further enhancements, procedural changes, related project prioritisation and allocation of resources in related areas with close collaboration and alignment from functional teams across global BSCs.

The role requires a sound knowledge of financial accounting as well as the ability to assimilate business processes and understand their impact on financial reporting.This is a high profile role, with interesting and challenging work, a high level of responsibility, giving exposure to external auditors and the Corporate Controller's group in Geneva.

Minimum requirements for the role:

Understand TBO end to end processes and changes, and ability to understand wider impact across the BSC .
Knowledge of key IFRS accounting standards and compliance controls.
Knowledge and exposure to risk management (Hedge Accounting)
Knowledge and exposure to Capital Markets and Debt instruments along with methods of valuations for period-end recognition
Understand the importance of accurate and consistent financial data
Knowledge and exposure to Cash & Liquidity management (In-House Bank & Cash Pooling)
