Production Improvement Engineer

Production Improvement Engineer ideally with experience from a Subcontract / Manufacturing engineering background. Working within the engineering department as well as shop floor engagement to implement the best & safest methods of manufacturing using Lean principles and process knowledge, you will be part of a dynamic team that ensures we stay ahead of the game.
The RoleIdentify, review & implement improvements to current product.Launch new product into manufacture ensuring smooth transition in production.Review & improve engineering routings & plans.Focused on improving efficiencies & right first time.Creating & developing SOP`s and aids to improve manufacture.Provide engineering drawings to aid manufacture using 2D & 3D CAD packages.Assist with the implementation of appropriate manufacturing jigs & fixtures.Provide effective communications and technical support to our clients.Assist in the setup of the Production units / Cells.Track project cost savings.Support production throughout the manufacturing process.Meet pre-production engineering requirements/deadlines.Working with shop floor operators closely.Considering new Technologies.
The PersonYou will have an understanding of the processes involved in our manufacturing facility including machining, fabrication, welding, laser cutting, CNC forming and painting in a sub-contract / manufacturing environment.Must have excellent problem-solving skills.Good communication, a team player, and is comfortable with the pressures of working to time deadlines.Always looking to innovate at every opportunity.Experience of 2D CAD required & Inventor 3D would be advantageous.Must also have a good understanding of Lean manufacture.A driven individual who like to be challenged with a desire to achieve results.
