Do you have the knowledge and experience of Design for Assembly, successfully reducing costs and improving reliability?

You will be interested in this opportunity to join our client, a world class manufacture and supplier of technology both in UK and internationally.

You will have a solid engineering background and knowledge of injection moulding and metal pressing, die casting manufacturing techniques, capable of acting as the interface between Research and Design and manufacturing on the introduction of New Products managing work scope / design to trial production to full production.

You will be part of this successful and busy Engineering team enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment. You'll be in one of the essential Engineering roles at the heart of the production manufacturing environment.

Alongside access to an excellent salary on appointment, working core hours Monday to Friday with flexible hours, and the opportunity to work with top-class people, you will be given plenty of responsibilities including:

Manage complex and long term projects to reach pre-determined objectives in quality, cost and delivery

Managing product design (where applicable), process design & development (including feasibility) and introduction in line with Quality Standards

Co-ordinating the preparation of DFMA

Escalating risks / issues to program management in a timely manner

Based out of the client's manufacturing site in the County Durham area, candidates willing to travel from outside the area will be considered for this appointment

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

To be qualified to HNC or Degree level in a Manufacturing or Engineering related discipline

Experience using 3D CAD system (knowledge of CATIA v5 highly desirable)

Experience of DFMA knowledge of cost reduction and value analysis within a manufacturing environment

Good computer skills specifically Microsoft Office

Effective communicator of information both verbally and in written form

A driven and motivated individual

Hold a full Driving licence and Passport, able to work away from home on occasions - UK and Europe
