Graduate Teaching Assistant Position in a south Leeds Primary School, running interventions in music and numeracy/literacy

Are you a talented graduate with a 2:1 or above and an interest in music, looking to gain experience as a primary Teaching Assistant before applying for a PGCE?

Do you have a core subject or music degree, and experience working with children, wanting to utilise this skillset and passion in a Primary school?

Would you like to earn up to £300 per week as a Teaching Assistant to really gain a deeper understanding of working in a Primary school?

If yes, then a large Primary school based in south Leeds is looking for an able graduate to support the school as a Teaching Assistant for the next academic year, supporting classroom teaching in the mornings and running music activities in the afternoons.

Person Specification - Primary Teaching Assistant (Music)
The school requires an ambitious graduate who has obtained a 2:1 or above in their degree, and is passionate about working with children, enhancing their numeracy/literacy skills as well as offering support in music. Ideally you will have the desire and motivation to become a teacher in the future. The school therefore requires a graduate who has excellent communication skills and possesses a motivational attitude.

The Role - Primary Teaching Assistant (Music)

As a Primary Teaching Assistant you will be supporting children aged between 4 - 11 years old, assisting with the organising, planning and preparation of lessons. You will run focused interventions with in numeracy and literacy in the mornings, then run activities linked to your musical skills in the afternoons. This is a role which allows you to be creative, use your initiative and build your skills in a number of ways.

The School - Primary Teaching Assistant (Languages Specialist)

The school is based in south Leeds on the Bradford border. This is a lovely school with higher than average numbers of EAL pupils, with a diverse range of cultures and a mixed demographic.
