Manufacturing Enterprise System Developer is required to work with a state of the art Manufacturing Research Centre in Coventry, they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer to work within the Digital Engineering theme. The candidate will be responsible for client advice and system development of the next generation of enterprise systems within manufacturing and construction.

The Role


The main purpose of this role is to focus on the Intelligent Automation & Informatics group which is involved R&D and technology solutions in Digital Manufacturing areas in areas such as;
Integration of manufacturing operational and ICT systems;
Development of intelligent algorithms for driving intelligent decisions from manufacturing shop floor data;
Development of interoperability and control system solutions for smart manufacturing processes;
Technology watch and development of solutions for manufacturing digitalisation such as full Manufacturing Enterprise Systems (MES).
The group delivers project based work to enhance the productivity of UK manufacturing as a whole. You will be working with a group of leading subject matter experts, delivering transformational change to our clients from multiple industrial sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive, Rail, Marine, Defence, Power generation, Food & Drink, ICT and Oil & Gas.


The Person

The role will involve close interaction with the Chief Engineer of Digital Engineering in;

Leading on the delivery of technically excellent work, to time and cost, across the theme's project portfolio;
Providing thought leadership to the development and delivery of the theme's technology roadmaps;
Helping drive the development and maturation of the theme's pipeline of project work;
Supporting the development, coaching and mentoring of the theme's research engineers
Recent and substantial work experience in an academic or industrial R&D environment in the area of Intelligent Automation & Informatics which would be typically evidenced by approximately 10 years or more relevant experience given the level of the role and the specialism involved. Individuals with less experience will be considered provided that they can demonstrate an equivalent skill set;
