Role: Personal Tutor/Assessor in Accountancy

Location: Preston, Warrington, Blackpool - Covering North West Area

Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role

  • Motivate and drive learners to achieve their work-based qualifications through great teaching and learning
  • Retain learners and employers by giving consistent great levels of service as per Our Learner Promise
  • Recruit for learners and employed Apprentice opportunities as appropriate to maintain minimum caseload and mix of learners as per targets
  • Support the learning process through use of learning resources and facilitating workplace on/off-the-job training as required
  • Support Quality Improvement activities by attending standardisation and sharing best practice with colleagues to improve performance
  • Plan the teaching, learning and assessment process with learners and employers - through a variety of different assessment methods, give feedback and complete all relevant documentation accurately
  • Carry out consistent planned progressive visits and reviews with the involvement of both learner and employer in line with ESFA and Our Learner Promise requirements
  • Provide information, advice and guidance throughout the learner's qualification to promote progression onto a suitable higher level qualification
  • Provide learners with all the relevant policies and regulations to clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you are responsible for or come into contact with
  • Consistently demonstrate our companies cultural and behavioural values
  • To provide Information, Advice and Guidance to all customers that enables them to make informed decisions to meet their goals and objectives

Person Specification

Essential Criteria Required

  • Experience of working as an accountant and/or has experience of delivering accountancy qualifications
  • Worked in the industry within the last 2 years
  • IT Literate
  • Effective communication skills
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Strong administration skills
  • The ability to meet a range of targets
  • Up to date Literacy and Numeracy skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Achieved a vocational qualification
  • Delivery of Functional/Key Skills through testing and portfolio building
  • Adaptable to change
  • Coaching/mentoring skills
  • Experience of working with adults of mixed abilities
  • Selling skills

Qualifications and Training

  • AAT Qualification
  • ACCA Qualified
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent
  • Minimum of Level 2 in Functions Skills - Maths, English and ICT
  • Relevant Technical Skills
  • Teaching Qualifications
  • Clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Level 4 Technical Qualifications
