If you would like to earn up to £300 per week whilst you build your experience before a PGCE or school based teacher training, then this Academic Mentor role could be ideal for you.

A warm and welcoming school in Bradford is looking for core subject graduates to join their team of support staff to help with pupil interventions, raising aspirations, attendance and attainment throughout the school. You can start your role in the coming weeks with a view to continuing the role next academic year, giving you plenty of time to build up to teacher training.

Graduate Academic Mentor - English/Maths/Science

You will be a graduate with a good academic background and at least received a 2:1 in your degree. You be a patient person ideally suited to be an academic mentor, assigned specifically to your chosen subject department. As an ambitious Academic Mentor you must be able to empathise with pupils and will be an enthusiastic addition to the school environment. You must also have a passion for education and a desire to pass on your extensive knowledge of Maths to the next generation.

In this role as an Academic Mentor you will be part of the teaching team and will focus primarily on pupils at the critical C/D borderline who need more attention to help them reach where they need to be across the core subjects (English/Maths/Science). This school has sufficient experience in supporting graduates in their first school based role and therefore provide some training before you arrive and further training will continue during your time at the school. You will be assigned a mentor in the form of a recently qualified teacher who will be able to aid you in your development.
