Network Consultant, Senior Network Engineer
Location: Eastleigh near Southampton, Hampshire and home based with occasional travel to HQ in Surrey.
The Network Consultant must be competent with a variety of vendor technologies including but not limited to Cisco (essential) and familiarity with some (not all!) of the following; Meraki, Riverbed, Infoblox, VMWare, Juniper, WIFI, Cloud, Infrastructure, WAN, VPN, Nutanix, Crossbeam, Bluecoat, Routing, Switching, Load Balancing, F5, Security, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Arista, SDN, Silverpeak.
The selected Senior Network Engineer will be CCNP certified or able to work to CCNP level and have equivalent experience across the technologies detailed above. You’ll have at least 5 years experience as a consultant working with networking, security and wireless technologies. My client is a fast-growing leading edge technology business, reinventing the data centre with Next Generation IT infrastructure design and technologies - software defined enterprise; SD Data Centre, SD WAN. They have many years of experience in providing innovative IT solutions to some of the largest businesses in the UK, and internationally, with a 95% repeat custom record.
They are now looking for an experienced Senior Network Consultant to deliver best-in-breed communications solutions as part of a highly talented team. This role will be based on their client’s site so good customer facing skills are required. The position will lean heavily on networking, design, documentation, firewalls, load balancing, security etc. We are looking for team players, experienced network engineers who can stand on their own feet, with a great attitude, who share knowledge and are happy getting hands on and working at all levels. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver complex technical projects
- Define technical direction (where appropriate) and agree with sponsors/ client management
- Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
- Provide technical guidance to team mates where required
- Deliver informative, well-organized presentations both internally and externally
- Interface professionally with external clients
The role will be based at a customer site in Eastleigh near Southampton. Occasionally there may be the need to work from our office (Surrey), potentially at other customer sites (Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire) and at home, so you'll be flexible about occasional travel.
