Critical purpose of role:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of a Wren project and Agile delivery team. Success is measured against timeline, budget, quality, stakeholder satisfaction and adherence to Wren process.

The IT Project Manager ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors). The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing the work of colleagues & third parties, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Project Manager role is multi-faceted, as follows:

Project set up

- Work with the Technical Development Manager, Business Analysts and Business Stakeholders to understand the initial scope for a new project
- Work with Developers and Testers to estimate project effort

Project delivery

- Responsible for the overall successful delivery of a project, through the complete project lifecycle. This includes ensuring that the project is delivered on time and budget and meets client and technical requirements.
- Develop, maintain and manage to project plan, ensuring the right balance of scope, budget, timeline and risk is in place.
- Ensures project is on track, as well as focussing on quality of deliverables, quality and stakeholder satisfaction, escalating issues as they arise to the Technical Development Manager
- Produce regular progress reports for Wren senior management and project teams
- Organise and chair project team meetings e.g. technical review and estimation sessions, daily stand ups, showcases.
- Ensure that all disciplines within the project team (PM, BA, QA, UX, Developers) are working together, understand their goals, have a voice on plans, quality, progress and resolving any cross functional issues.
- Develop and maintain project delivery roadmaps, sprint plans etc.

Follow Wren internal processes

- Understand and ensure internal, Agile based processes are followed throughout a project by the project team
- Define the project milestones and iterations against which progress is tracked throughout the project
- Work on the continuous improvement of the Wren project delivery method and processes, incorporating any lessons learnt from the project
- Ensuring Jira, project boards and other PM tools are kept up to date

Stakeholder management

- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the business, including ongoing communications (according to the project communications plan), and expectation management.
- Persuasive and skilled negotiator able to work with the business
