As in-house recruiters for DENSO Marston based in Shipley, West Yorkshire we have a technically challenging opportunity for an experienced FEA Engineer to join the business. You will perform finite element analysis (FEA) and fatigue life analysis of cooling system components to support the design and approval process. You will be part of the team to develop tools and methods to enable `right first time` component design and therefore reduce new product development lead times.

Key Responsibilities

- Confidently carry out stress calculations, producing clear concise reports (or presentations) and recommendations for design improvement.
- Design / optimisation of heat exchangers, and cooling modules using FEA techniques. Correlation of FEA models to actual test conditions.
- Advise and assist non-expert colleagues with structural analysis problems (eg. mentoring of users of CAD based FEA tools).
- Written/verbal communication internally/externally to suppliers and customers
- Support new product introduction and technology research
- Work in functional and cross-functional teams.

Skills/Experience Required

- FEA experience (3+ years) of using ANSYS Mechanical or MSC Nastran and Patran.
- Degree in Mechanical (or CAE or Automotive) Engineering or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
- Experience in structural analysis fundamentals with ability to apply FEA and classical hand calculation approaches.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Experience of coupled thermal-structural or non linear analysis would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience of fatigue life prediction and accelerated test derivation.
- Experience in using CAD (eg. Pro-e or CATIA)

Working Hours

- 30 - 5:00 Mon - Thurs 8:30 - 1:30 Fri. Flexi-time of 30 minutes at either side of the core hours are available Mon - Thurs
