YOUR ROLE:

You will ultimately be responsible for the technology selection and direction of all software developments.

Translate business and IT requirements into architecture specifications and models.
Provide technology authority and expertise in the assessment of new business developments across the group.

Build and maintain application architecture deliverables, methodologies, technical standards and improvement plans.
Visualise a solution and develop a number of options from concept to implementation.
Interpret business needs and communicate technology solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Delivering practical and maintainable technology based solutions to complex technical problems in line with the organisations EA Principles.

Providing overarching solution architecture/technical requirements for service tenders.

Supporting the organisations methodologies and processes for solution architecture approach.

Constructing architecture diagrams and data models.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Work with suppliers / partners to ensure appropriate technical direction with regards to solution architecture and development.
Work with other subject matter experts for technologies such as networks and security.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Work with diverse stakeholders, both external and internal.
Mentor, direct and train the Senior Developer and Developer roles.

WHAT YOU'RE GREAT AT:

Minimum QCF level 6, which equates to: Bachelor's Degree/Bachelor's Degree with Honours/LPC, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas, BTEC Advanced Professional Diplomas, ACII Level 6/FCII Level 7, BCS Int Diploma in Solutions Development and MCSE or MSCD.

Constantly up to date with the development in technology and solution
development.

Appropriate level of expertise across a broad range of technologies in order to design the overall solution including; application design, integration technologies, service-oriented architecture (SOA), web development, mobile, infrastructure, networks, business intelligence, security and cloud technologies.

Experience of designing and implementing high-performance, high-volume and high availability transaction solutions.

Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience to ensure correct solution is selected with a full understanding of costs, timescales and risks involved.

Understanding of industry standard development lifecycles, best practice testing and awareness of IT Architectural and Project management disciplines.

Self-reliant, and proven ability to deal effectively with outside suppliers.
Significant design, development and testing experience.

Skilled and experienced in the use of the following technologies:

* .Net Framework
* ASP.Net / ASP.Net MVC
* Javascript frameworks and libraries
* WebApi / WCF
* MS SQL Server Suite (SSDB, SSIS,SSRS,SSAS)
* iSeries Operations
* Windows Networking
* IIS 6-7.5

Skilled and experienced in object orientated design and development with a working knowledge of design patterns.

Working knowledge of code management applications.

Well-developed communication, problem solving, analytical, organisational and administrative skills.
