International Finance Manager
As a highly profitable & successful international PLC operating within the Natural Resources & Mining sector, this expanding FTSE company continues to enjoy significant returns across all key businesses. Ongoing growth & development has created, by a recent acquisition, a high-profile opportunity for a qualified accountant to undertake a Group Finance Manager & (Acquisition) Operational Controls Manager supporting the Group FC & CFO. You will work closely with the existing senior management team to develop the group financial reporting, FP&A and internal control policies & procedures, making strong recommendations to cover business risks. Initially, the role will be focused on the integration of the recently acquired mine in Europe into the existing group reporting and internal controls framework. The role will require travel to this European OpCo during the first 6-12 months which will run down to 10-15% and occasional travel to other Mines based worldwide; this role is central London based at PLC HQ.
Business Process & Controls
•Review existing group business processes and controls, specifically the acquisition, document business processes & controls and develop the Company's Financial Position and Prospects Procedures ("FPPP") memorandum
•Implement a framework of continuous control monitoring covering business cycles such as procurement, HR, payroll, sales, treasury, fixed assets, capital projects and inventory; implement improvements to strengthen controls
•Integrate the acquisition into the existing group internal controls framework and assist in wider areas of risk management and compliance
•Prepare and present reports to senior management on the effectiveness of internal controls
Group Financial Reporting and FP&A management
Support in overall responsibility for day to day group & operational finance & reporting: accounting, finance, budgeting & forecasting, support on strategic planning, cashflow management, FX risk management, tax & VAT planning & strategy, management of key external finance relationships
•Support preparation of monthly, Interim and year-end close process IFRS group consolidation with multiple foreign subsidiaries statutory accounting for international & legal entities, interacting with key contacts throughout the business
•Support preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis reporting and Board reports
•Management of overseas finance team and close working relationships with operational management
•Support preparation & orchestration of plans, budget and forecasts & analysis cycles
•Support group tax compliance including VAT, corporation tax and transfer pricing
•Support the external audit process
As a graduate qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or ACCA) from a Big 4 or Top 10/20 firm, you will demonstrate post qualified group financial accounting technical or group consolidations experience, gained within a Mining and PLC group environment. With proven technical capability, the ability to drive key accounting cycles & the gravitas to build business relationships at all levels, the role demands hands on staff & internal controls & process management experience alongside evidence of implementing process change.
