Media Relations Executive
A great opportunity has arisen for a Media Relations Executive to cover maternity leave (12 month FTC) for a membership organisation based in London in order to support the media relations manager and head of marketing in developing and implementing the organisation s media and social media strategy. Media Relations Executive will provide advice and support to members who face media attention in relation to their work.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Working with the marketing and governmental and external relations departments to create maximum awareness of new advice, products, services and initiatives.
Implementing media plans to maintain the organisation s high profile as the UK s leading voice on medico-legal issues.
Seeking new opportunities for the organisation to promote its professional services and products in the media.
Maintaining regular contact with the media.
Producing regular authoritative news releases, comment and features for specialist, and national media in UK and for the website in conjunction with professional services colleagues.
Monitoring relevant publications and key social media sites.
Alerting the Executive and relevant colleagues to high profile cases, according to the flow chart.
Working with social media executive to implement a proactive social media strategy, liaising with marketing, sales and other colleagues to research a plan of activity.
Advising colleagues on how to handle the media and briefing them prior to media interviews.
Arranging media training for spokespeople.
To undertake such other tasks as may be delegated by the media relations manager.
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
The post holder should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a confident manner.
A background in PR or journalism, with proven experience ideally gained in a healthcare/insurance environment.
