Job Title: Hotline Technician

Summary: 1 Role for Night Shift - Mon to Thur 20:15 to 06:30 - 28.3%

shift allowance 1 Role for Day shift - Mon to Thur 06:30 to 15:30 - £14.39ph

Job Purpose:

Support manufacturing operations with containment and resolution of supplier parts quality issues.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Supplier liaison on manufacturing assembly issues and feedback to supervision

  • AMCPA defect resolution for supplier related issues

  • Hotline calls logging and type assessment (Valid, Invalid, Repeating and Contained)

  • Inspection of parts when necessary (inc BIW panel cosmetics)

  • Assessment of assembly conditions (customer perception)

  • Ability to provide practical and timely containments to prevent assembly stoppages and misfits

  • Compile daily report and feedback corrective action detail on issues raised to management.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and models to industry/engineering standards

  • Processing of non conforming parts

  • May undertake visits to suppliers to resolve quality issues

  • Will be required to carry out cosmetic assessment of BIW panel surface conditions

  • A requirement to be organised with the ability to prioritise diverse tasks when in challenging situations

  • Ability to demonstrate good 8D/PPS problem solving skills

    Qualification & Experience:

    Good verbal and written communication skills across all levels.

    automotive experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality function.

    PC literate - MS Office competent (Excel essential)

    Will have tenacity and an investigative nature

    Previous Quality/Manufacturing related role in the Automotive industry

    Strong Quality and/or Manufacturing background.

    Trained in problem resolution analysis (G8D/PPS)

    Have a basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) methodology

    Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices.

    Understanding the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Systems elements
