Head of Marketing
Our client is a knowledge based, science-led business focused on delivering the expertise and capabilities their clients demand. They have an opportunity to join the business as Group Head of Marketing for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting directly to the MD you will be responsible for overseeing all marketing activity of the company ensuring the marketing team effectively fulfils the organisation's marketing strategy. With a proven track record in a senior marketing role, you will collaborate with the leadership team to guide the group marketing and communications. You will create, develop and maintain B2B marketing strategies/plans and hold responsibility for the central group marketing budget. The role will include line-management of a team of 5 marketing professionals, based at two sites in South Manchester and Cheshire. Regular travelling to both marketing offices and other group sites will be an essential part of the role.
This role is a maternity cover to begin in May 2018 for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Input into the marketing strategy and agreeing the yearly action plan accordingly.
All aspects of daily management for the Group Marketing Department.
Ensuring that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team and guiding the day to day activities of the team.
Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.
Making sure that brand guidelines are adhered to in all marketing activities across the group.
Managing the group central marketing budget.
Managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers (Branding, PR).
Ensuring staffing levels are maintained in order to complete all aspects of the companys marketing strategy.
Carrying out competitor analysis to ensure the companys marketing strategy is competing effectively.
Reporting on all marketing activities to the board.
Working closely with the Leadership Team on group projects.
Working closely with the companys Business Development team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations.
Work closely with product management team to define marketing materials and programs.
Attending regular internal leadership meetings and events.
Degree qualified and member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles.
Confident, driven and dynamic individual.
Strong understanding of effective Marketing Communications.
An ability to lead and inspire marketing teams.
A background in science would be desirable.
Impeccable communication skills (spoken and written).
Full clean driving license.
