We are currently recruiting for a Training and Development Manager to join a well-established company based in Milton Keynes. Within this role you will be responsible for supporting the business with all employee development and training by identifying individual needs and designing training programmes and courses to meet those needs. You will be responsible for the creation of all training materials and managing the set budgets whilst keeping within them. You will also be managing the apprenticeship schemes and keeping up to date with the latest government levy's. You will ensure all the training records and development journals are maintained also.

Main duties will include the following:

  • Identify training and development needs of employees through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultations with the employee, Line Managers, Directors and the HR Manager
  • Map out training plans and schedules, design and develop in-house training programs
  • Ensure statutory training requirements are met
  • Manage the effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
  • Manage the apprenticeship schemes
  • Having an understanding of e-learning techniques and manage the creation of e-learning packages
  • Deliver training as a group or individually
  • Gather feedback from Managers, trainers and trainees after each training session
  • Develop induction programmes
  • Manage and evaluate the delivery of training and development programs for out sourced training

Skills required and preferred Experience:

  • Experience of working in a training and development position or a similar role
  • Have the ability to complete the full training cycle i.e assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate
  • Have working knowledge of the Government Apprenticeship Scheme and associated levy's
  • Be familiar with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • Mentor and coaching experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong rapport building skills
  • Be self-motivated and capable of making decisions
  • Be proficient on MS Office

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.45pm and Friday 7.30 - 12.30
