Job Description:

Due to increasing orders and diversification we are recruiting experienced mechanical fitters.
We are looking for a hardworking, skilled fitter with experience in the following areas:

  • Building sub-assemblies from component level using drawings and schematics,
  • Working to tight tolerances (less than 10 microns),
  • Experience in the use of measuring tools,
  • Ability to hand scrape, deburr and mottle,
  • Experience of working on heavy or complex machinery either in manufacturing or maintenance.

Some experience in hydraulics or pneumatics would be advantageous as would working with bearing assemblies, gears and alignment of machines.



Candidate Requirements:

You will be either be apprentice trained (mechanical) or a ‘time-served’ fitter.

Our engineering work is interesting and diverse and once you are familiar with our build process the type of work you will be involved in is sub-assembly builds including: workslide, workhead, tailstock, cutterhead, dresser as well as bedset assembly and machine refurbishments.

A keen eye for detail and a high level of pride in your work is essential as we have extremely high quality standards.

Once fully trained, you will have an opportunity to travel internationally as a member of our installation team, so flexibility and a willingness to travel is essential.

Salary and benefits:

Working a 4½ day week (37 hrs) with an 11.45am finish on a Friday, competitive salary of between £25,000 to £27,000, premium rates for overtime, life assurance x 4, pension between 3% to 6% matched contributions and 25 days holiday increasing with service plus 8 days statutory.
