SF Group are working with a fantastic global automotive technology business based in Warwickshire. They are looking for a Buyer to join them on a long term basis paying up to £22 per hour.

Job Description:
We are currently looking to recruit for a Project Buyer who will be responsible for the procurement of bespoke items, who has the ability to influence cost and quality and deliver specifications as defined by both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist internal/external customers in the development of project sourcing strategies
  • Monitor relevant SAP requisitions and Visual Manufacturing Dispatch Lists to identify items for procurement
  • Ensure that all items for procurement are within the relevant budget and comply with all appropriate strategies and rules of thumb
  • Utilise and assist in the development of new purchasing tools such as global sourcing and EProcurement
  • Identify the VMF for items, within the vendor base and new resourcing opportunities through market research or by other means
  • Liaise with the Purchasing Manager with respect to any potential resourcing opportunities
  • Initiate, develop and maintain good supplier relationships, including arranging face-to- face meetings as appropriate
  • Use SAP to identify expedite needs, and investigate any invoice, cost or quality queries
  • Attend project reviews as required, equipped with all relevant delivery information
  • Facilitate weekly project sourcing meetings to review the sourcing plan and understand the status of each pack against the relevant milestone
  • Ensure that suppliers are working within the code of ethics and to the company terms and conditions
  • Complete quotation packs

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of technical commodities
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, including but not exclusive to: Purchasing module, Finance modules, Reporting functions
  • Good practical knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of the structure and working practices of counterpart procurement teams within other business units and across the group

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years within a commodity buying area within manufacture
  • A good understanding of engineering issues through education or experience
